Rachael's Wedding {& makeup}

I have SO been looking forward to these pictures! Rachael is a total babe with incredible style. Her vintage "mismatched" themed wedding was striking. For her makeup we decided to do things "different" and I LOVED IT. Her red/poppy lips were the perfect touch to the overall picture of her day. Eyes were shimmery and subtle with LOTS of lashes - LOVE. Check her out...

Photography by Tec Petaja. Rachael is currently starting her own wedding planning business. If you are looking for a planner - check her out! Because she is new to the biz she is priced very reasonably.

Fighting it.

They say it's genetic... but I am going to try and prove them wrong. My mom has the craziest looking stretch marks from pregnancy that I have ever seen (sorry mom). They may be the reason why I have been married for 7 years and am just now having a kid- I am traumatized. ANYway--- they say it's genetic, but I am going to fight it. I have now asked almost every woman who works in cosmetics in Southern California (and has had a kid) what the best stretch mark prevention products are. Here is the grand conclusion- Clarins Tonic Body Treatment Oil.

Here is the scoop: $52.00 for 100% pure plant extracts. #1 best selling oil that firms and tones helping to prevent stretch marks (also good for weight loss). About 5 women that I trust the most from work have said that this stuff that is legit. They also layered it with Shea Butter from L'OCCITANE.

One of my favorite bloggers wrote this about it as well.

So, twice a day I lather myself up with all this goodness... I will let you know in about 4 months if it really is just genetic ;)

Hot Air Balloons

I have a thing for hot air balloons. I think they're awesome. They come out seasonally in North County San Diego (where I live) and they give me the warm fuzzies when I see them. When my brother and I were little one landed in our backyard---- we about passed out from excitement over this. We still talk about it. ANYway, I recently wanted to update the situation above the fireplace. I bought a piece of smooth pine wood from Home Depot and got to work. I wanted it very simple using only black paint and a little charcoal. Here is how it turned out...

The Coastal Wanderer {Makeup}

I was fortunate enough to work with two ridiculously talented individuals on a little photo shoot featuring Quicksilver Womens Fall Collection. Beth is a personal stylist and Laurel is a photographer--- both ridiculously talented. Beth asked that the makeup be, "Natural skin and a smokey eye... like she woke up with it still on from the night before." Here's how it turned out...
